SMS Application Services

The Short Message Service (SMS), often called text messaging, is a means of sending short messages to and from mobile phones.  SMS was originally  defined as part of the GMS series of standards in 1985 as a means of sending messages of up to 160 characters, to and from GSM mobile handsets.  Since then, support for the service has expanded to include alternative mobile standards such as ANSI  CDMA networks and AMPS, satellite and landline networks.  Most SMS messages are mobile-to-mobile text messages, though the standard supports other types of broadcast messaging as well.  The term SMS is frequently used in a non-technical sense to refer to the text messages themselves, particularly in non-English-speaking European Countries where the GSM system is well established.

Within BITHGROUP Technologies’ SMS Engineering Group, we are developing the new Text Order Go line of products.  This line consists of 5 mobile applications, each with the potential to revolutionize m-commerce.  They are given below with a brief description.

TOGo© - This application allows consumers to order food real-time, via a MIDlet (a small JAVA  program, optimized for mobile devices) installed on the user’s cell phone.  Market data shows that a +95% of mobile devices on the market are JAVA enabled.  JAVA MIDlets enable dynamic input and transmission of data normally conveyed orally in an order.  In addition this software allows the order to be preprocessed so that it is transmitted in the most efficient and effective manner before even reaching the merchant.

FanGo© - This application is an extension of the TOGo© application optimized for the arena and stadium environments.  Based on the same technology as TOGo©, this application allows users to order food directly  to his or her seat without the need for mobile internet access.  FanGo© will likely be the first product offered to the general market as it has the potential to act as a marketing tool for the other products.

CashGo© - The CashGo© application turns every cell phone into the equivalent of a credit card, allowing users to transfer money to other users or merchants all via the same cell phone based software that powers both FanGo© and TOGo©.  In addition this software offers greater security than a credit card because the application identifies the user by a phone number, ESN (Electronic Signature Number) as well as a PIN (Personal Identification Number).  Also the software allows the transfer of funds to occur without ever passing sensitive information wirelessly.  With this application users will never have to split a bill again or pay a friend $20 cash for a concert ticket.  CashGo© reduces those transactions to a simple push of a button on his or her mobile device.

TaxiGo© - This application allows users to hail a taxi cab to his or her immediate location via our software and the GPS module in most mobile phones.  With this application users will be able to transmit or input and transmit his or her location to the web based TextOrderGo© software where the request for a taxi is immediately routed to the nearest subscribing taxi cab in places like New York City this is becoming increasingly easier to accomplish.  Alternatively the service can track taxis via the cell phones of the cab drivers themselves.  With that information the system allows maximum efficiency in hailing a cab.  In addition TaxiGo© eliminates the need for carrying cab cash because it carries out the process of billing for the cab service via the user’s TOGo© account.

ResGo© - This application allows consumers to book a seat or ticket at an event, restaurant or to the movie theater all via text message.  Utilizing the same technology as the other applications, the user can easily transmit reservations or request for tickets portably without the  need for internet access.  The TextOrder© web based software then translates the information to specify the event, time, quantity, location and transmits the request to the merchant.  The billing for the tickets or reservation all occurs behind the scene eliminating the need to carry cash or transmit billing information wirelessly.  The user will receive a confirmation text with a confirmation number and the total of his or her order along with the details restated for reference.
